From Marrakech to the Ourika Valley is 1.5 hours drive. There we offer your family diffrent activities, depending on your wishes. You also have the chance to get to know the daily life.

Littel hiking or riding on the mule

Hike or ride up to a nice pick nic place or have lunch at our home

For kids up 2 years, 1h - 3h, 3km - 6 km, 200m▲: Departure at 9am from Marrakesch center, to Ourika valley. On the way you will will follow the river of Ourika and enjoy the green valley with the typical berber villages. After 1,5h of driving we will meet our mules and start with our hiking. First we follow the track that passes by the river until the village of Amlougui. Then we continue on a mule track through the narrow gorges of Taghiya after this cool area we will reach the busy village of Tourcht, where you can meet the local people by doing their daily work. In the shade of a walnut tree we will make a fire for our picknic or walk back to our home where a nice Tajine is waiting you. By returning back on a goat track you can see the irrigation system and the cultivated terraces of Amlougui. For the one who had a pick nic we will go to our home for a moroccan tea. After all we walk down for about 30 minutes to catch our transport to Marrakesch.

An adventure day searching for the lost treasure of the Amazigh

You learn how to read a map, make a fire and crawl into a cave

For kids up 6 years, 5h, 9km, 400m▲: Departure at 9am from Marrakesch center, to Ourika valley. On the way up you will see the beautiful green valley with the typical berber villages. After 1,5h of driving we will start with our hiking by the river of Amlougui, where you will get your map to seach for the lost treasure. We follow the track that passes by the river until the village of Amlougui. Then we continue on a mule track to the busy village of Tourcht, wehre you have to finde some stuff to cook our meal. On the way you have a sip of fresh clean water of a source. Pick nic under the walnut trees with a tasty moroccan tea cooked on the fire. Your map will tell you where else we have to go to finde the secret. We will pass by an old abandoned mine and somehow our map shows us to crawl into the cave. With little light we hopefully find the treasure and the secret will be revealed. Then we continue with a great view to the valley and the beautiful mountains. By the river of Ourika is our transport waiting you. We say goodby and hope you enjoyed the day with us.

Hike up to the waterfalls, have a shower and make a watermill ore a little boat

For kids up 6 years who are sporty - 5h, 5km, 400m▲: Departure at 9am from Marrakesch center, to Setti Fadma. On the way you will see the beautiful green Ourika valley with the typical berber villages. We will drive to the village of Setti Fatma, which lies at an altitude of 1450 meters and offers a magnificent natural spectacle with seven small waterfall cascades. The surrounding area is ideal for an easy hike of about half an hour, lined with shady walnut trees and large rocks, leads to the first waterfall. We continue to the seventh waterfall, which requires some technique and a good level of fitness. On the top of the seven waterfalls we will have a nice pick nic, cook some moroccan tea and start with our projects. With different materials we will make our watermills or our boats. For the mills we will build with stones a damm so they can realy work and show us how fast the water will spinn the wheel. As soon the boats are finished you will enter them in to the water for the first ride. Ship ahoy!! After this interesting day, we will go back to Setti Fadma, relax by the river and enjoy the busy village. In the late afternoon we say goodby and the car will bring you back to Marrakesch.
