From Marrakech to the Ourika Valley is 1.5 hours drive. There you can hike for 1 to 4 hours, depending on your wishes. You will have the chance to get to know our daily life and enjoy a Tajine in our family.

Easy walk

Little walk to Amlougui house and have lunch

0.5h - 2h, 6km, 100m▲: Departure at 9am from Marrakesch center, to Ourika valley. On the way up you will see the beautiful green valley with the typical berber villages. After 1,5h of driving we will meet your guide where you start hiking to Amlougui village. By foot about 30 minutes or driving about 10 minutes. On arrival we will serve you a nice moroccan tea at the guest house of the family Essoussy. Then we take a 1h walk, around the village (optional). After this walk, you will enjoy our tasty Tajine. Take your time in Amlougui till we return to our transport who will bring you to Marrakesch.

Medium hiking

Hiking through the gorge and enjoy the view to the Mountain Meldsen

2h - 3h, 10km, 250m▲: Departure at 9am from Marrakesch center, to Ourika valley. On the way you will will follow the river of Ourika and enjoy the green valley with the typical berber villages. After 1,5h of driving we will start with our hiking. First we follow the track that passes by the river until the village of Amlougui. Then we continue on a mule track through the narrow gorges of Taghiya after this cool area we will reach the busy village of Tourcht, where you can meet the local people by doing their daily work. By returning back on a the goat track you can see the irrigation system and the cultivated terraces of Amlougui. A nice moroccan tea and a Tajine is waiting you in the guest house of the family Essoussy. After lunch we walk down for about 30 minutes to catch our transport to Marrakesch.

Sporty hiking

Follow the river up to its source. A sporty varied hike

5h, 10km, 500▲: Departure at 9am from Marrakesch center, to Ourika valley. On the way up you will see the beautiful green valley with the typical berber villages. After 1,5h of driving we will start with our hiking. First we follow the track that passes by the river until the village of Amlougui. Then we continue on a mule track through narrow gorges of Taghiya after this cool area we get to the busy village of Tourcht, wehre you can meet the local people by doing their daily work. Then we continue along the river and agriculture terraces. There you have a sip of fresh clean water of a source and then we hike up through the fields where you can see the irrigation system. Pick nic under the walnut threes with a tasty moroccan tea cooked on the fire. After lunch we return back by the road at Ait Berka with a great view to the valley and the beautiful mountains. We are going down a zig zaging trail to the river of Ourika where your transport is waiting you.

Refreshing hiking, medium

See the waterfalls of Setti Fadma and walk through the fields to Amlougui house for lunch

3h - 4h, 8km, 300▲: Departure at 9am from Marrakesch center, to Setti Fadma. On the way you will see the beautiful green Ourika valley with the typical berber villages. By Setti Fadma your guide will wait you and walk with you up to the waterfalls. There you can enjoy the fresh and cool air by a tea or orange jus. After the little break by the waterfall we will go back to Setti Fadma we will take a little trail up to the village of Ait Berka where you have a great view over the valley. On the way to Amlougui we will see the irrigation of their agriculture and the different fruit trees. After 30 minutes we will be at the guesthouse of family Essoussy. There we enjoy a tasty Tajine. After this good pause we return to the main road, 20 minutes to meet our transport to Marrakesch.

Setti Fadma waterfalls, medium

Wild nature in a refreshing cool mountain valley

3h - 4h, 5km, 400▲: Departure at 9am from Marrakesch center, to Setti Fadma. On the way you will see the beautiful green Ourika valley with the typical berber villages. We will drive to the village of Setti Fatma, which lies at an altitude of 1450 meters and offers a magnificent natural spectacle with seven small waterfall cascades. The surrounding area is ideal for an easy hike of about half an hour, lined with shady walnut trees and large rocks, leads to the first waterfall. Depending on your wishes and physical condition, we can continue to the seventh waterfall, which requires some technique and a good level of fitness. After this hike, we go bak to where we started and have lunch by the river. The coolness of the river Ourika will give us a good paus and freshness so we will hit the road back with some great experiences and memories of a day with many different impressions.
